How many of your fall plans in Granbury have a Pearl Street address? Count them and it's nearly all of them. Granbury Theatre Company's three productions play the Opera House at 133 E. Pearl. Both November holiday markets are on Pearl, one at 621 E. Pearl and one at 201 E. Pearl. So are the nativity display at Gordon House, 307 E. Pearl, and Santa House at the courthouse gazebo, 100 E. Pearl. The newest sit-down restaurant on the square, Shucker's Oyster Bar & Grill, is at 115 W. Pearl.
The chain restaurants headed to town are filed for sites a long way from that street, on East US Highway 377. In Granbury, the season and the growth are happening in two different places. Knowing which is which makes the next three months easier to plan.
Here is the calendar from now through Christmas, sorted by where things happen.
| Address | What | 2026 Dates |
|---|---|---|
| Historic Granbury Square | Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts | October 23–25 |
| 133 E. Pearl St., Opera House | Footloose | October 9–18 |
| 133 E. Pearl St., Opera House | The Great Gatsby | October 23–November 8 |
| 621 E. Pearl St., David Southern Lake Granbury Conference Center | Lake Granbury Holiday Market | November 7 |
| 201 E. Pearl St. | Granbury Square Plaza Holiday Market | November 14 |
| Historic Granbury Square | Night of Lights Christmas Parade | November 27, 6 p.m. |
| 307 E. Pearl St., Gordon House | Wisemen Seek Him | November 27–December 6 |
| 100 E. Pearl St., Courthouse Gazebo | Granbury Santa House | November 28–December 23 |
| Historic Granbury Square | Granbury, A Candlelight Tour of Homes | December 4–6 |
| 133 E. Pearl St., Opera House | Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn | December 4–23 |
The table shows two collisions. Twice this season, a new Opera House show opens on the same weekend as one of the square's biggest outdoor events. Those two weekends are the ones that call for planning ahead.
Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts and The Great Gatsby's opening night both fall on Friday, October 23. The Historic Granbury Merchants Association runs the festival, and its events page promises "artists & artisans from near and far," live music all weekend and a Masquerade Street Dance. Gatsby runs at the Opera House from October 23 through November 8.
The two official listings disagree on the festival dates. HGMA's page, updated in late September, says October 23–25. Visit Granbury's event listing says October 24–25. HGMA is the organizer, so plan around a Friday start and check its page as the weekend gets closer. As of early October, neither site has posted 2026 hours, a music lineup or the time of the street dance. HGMA's dedicated festival page still shows last year's schedule, so last year's times are not a reliable guide.
If you'd rather catch the musical, the Opera House is on now with Footloose, running October 9 through October 18. That gives you a quieter way to start the month before Harvest Moon weekend.
Once Gatsby closes, November moves to markets on two Saturdays a week apart, both on Pearl, both free and both run by the same group. CCMarkets4Days Events LLC presents the Lake Granbury Holiday Market on Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the David Southern Lake Granbury Conference Center. A week later, on November 14, it holds the Granbury Square Plaza Holiday Market at 201 E. Pearl from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with local vendors, food and live music.
The first is indoors at the lake end of the street. The second is on the plaza by the square. Together they spread the early holiday shopping over two weekends, so there's no single crowded Saturday.
The night after Thanksgiving starts the stretch that runs into December. The Night of Lights Christmas Parade steps off at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 27, on the Historic Granbury Square. Visit Granbury credits HGMA with putting it on. HGMA describes the parade as lighted floats and walking groups winding through the downtown historic district. Santa's arrival marks the start of the Christmas season, and the city's lights come on in Shanley Park and at City Hall. HGMA's own page still lists last year's parade date. Visit Granbury's current listing has the 2026 date.
The same night, Gordon House at 307 E. Pearl opens "Wisemen Seek Him," a free display of more than 1,000 nativity scenes that runs through December 6. The next day, the Granbury Santa House opens at the courthouse gazebo. It runs November 28 through December 20, with extra weeknight dates December 21–23, and admission is free.
The season's second collision comes on the first weekend of December. HGMA's 42nd annual Granbury, A Candlelight Tour of Homes runs December 4–6, with decorated homes and locations plus a VIP Night and party. Granbury Theatre Company opens Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn the same weekend, with performances December 4–23.
"Now Seeking 2026 Tour Homes & Locations: Have a space that would shine on this year's tour? We'd love to hear from you!"
That call is still on HGMA's events page, with submissions going to [email protected]. If your house has the kind of holiday decorating, or the kind of history, that people stop to look at, this is the event that asks to come inside. As of early October, the 2026 tour list was still open.
So far the square has added restaurants without adding sprawl. Shucker's Oyster Bar & Grill held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on June 5, 2026, at 115 W. Pearl St., Suite 100. Hood County News followed with a June 20 feature about bringing Florida seafood to Granbury. It opened into a calendar that was already full, and it sits a short way down the same street the parade and the festival use.
The national and regional brands have filed for sites along East US 377. State records show the scheduled construction dates, though not whether work has started:
Neither project will change how a Saturday on the square goes this fall. Texas Roadhouse may open around the holidays. Rosa's is a 2027 story. What the filings do show is a split in Granbury's restaurant growth. The chain projects are concentrated on the highway. The square keeps its festivals, its Opera House and independent operators like Shucker's.
Visit Granbury has also been asking residents where they actually eat. Its Foodie Trail launched in July, and Hood County News covered the "Locals' Picks Edition" on August 29. The full list is behind the paper's paywall, and it's worth looking up before you pick a dinner spot around one of the busy weekends.
